The Sound of Spring Is Just Like You begins when the protagonist, Airi Aihara who is struggling through a period of uncertainty akin to being lost on a dark night happens to hear Ao singing. Set in a Japanese girls' school, this is a "yuri" kinetic novel that captures a journey of growth and romance; it follows two girls as they meet, discover the paths they wish to pursue through their connection with one another, and take steps forward one by one. The Sound of Spring Is Just Like You tells the story of two people who meet and over the course of a year spanning the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter gradually come to know, understand, and love one another. In keeping with the unfolding story, the game features various versions of character standing illustrations and cutscenes much like the changing seasons that reflect the characters' evolution.
